Tour Our Hospital

Lily
Welcome! My name is Lily and I live at Largo Veterinary Hospital with Sully & Ollie. I was chosen to be your tour guide through the hospital, as I am known as a social butterfly.

Hospital Exterior
Reception Area Dr. Lutz started the practice over 20 years ago. I have only been a staff member since the summer of 2004, but Dr. Lutz does appreciate my teamwork efforts.

When you first arrive at the hospital, a receptionist will greet you here at the counter.

Hallway
Exam Room After checking in, a receptionist will escort you and your pet into one of our 3 exam rooms.

The exam rooms are well equipped. Most of the time I am probably waiting in one of the exam rooms to welcome you and your pet.

Lily on scale
Pharmacy area Cats and small dogs are weighed in the exam rooms while larger dogs are weighed in our waiting area. I am not going to tell you what I weigh because a girl should never tell.

Amanda and Debbie are busy in our fully stocked pharmacy while I am off supervising activity in another area of the clinic. There is so much for me to do!

Laboratory microscope
Treatment area Just outside of our exam rooms is our laboratory and pharmacy area. Here I am helping Amanda one of our technicians read a fecal sample.

Quite often, Dr. Lutz and I will review a patient's record. Here we confer in the treatment and dental area. This area is used for everything from drawing blood to surgery preparation to handling emergencies.

ICU oxygen cages
Surgery assistant We have two oxygen cages that are thermostatically controlled recovery cages; the floors are warmed and make them nice and comfy.

When I assist in surgery, I always remember to scrub up and wear my surgical cap, gown and gloves just like the nurses.

Radiology table
Ultrasound machine Did you know that a cat has 230 bones in its body and a human only has 206 bones? Maybe someone will take an x-ray of me in our radiology room.

On our state of the art ultrasound-imaging machine, Dr. Lutz can see live functions of patient's organs. Ultrasound scanning is noninvasive and is usually painless.

Lily, Ollie, and Sully
On a final note Ollie, Sully and I are going to take a nap as giving you this tour has worn us out. We hope you have enjoyed visiting our home and come to see us soon.
