Dr. James Lutz, Practice Owner
Dr.
James Lutz received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from
Michigan State in 1977. He then worked as an associate at Tyrone
Veterinary Hospital in St. Petersburg prior to opening Largo Veterinary
Hospital in 1984. Dr Lutz also served as the staff veterinarian for the
Pinellas County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (SPCA) to Animals
from 1983-2001 and he currently serves on the SPCA board of directors.
He has also served as President of the Pinellas County Veterinary
Medical Society and the Pinellas Animal Foundation. Dr. Lutz and his family share their home with
several furry friends: "Tequila" a Chihuahua who thinks she is a
princess, "Tico" a Chihuahua who comes to work every day with dad,
"Trinity" a Cairn Terrier and "Tully" a Pit Bull.
In Dr. Lutz's own words:
"Treating
people and their pets with respect is important to us. We strive to
provide the best care for our patients. By communicating thoroughly
with our clients, we feel that we can do what is best for their pets.
We aim to treat every pet like they are our own."

Dr. Alise Wood, Veterinarian

Dr.
Wood received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Troy
University in 2003; she received her DVM degree from Auburn University
in May 2007. Dr. Wood has 1 cat, "Callie", a longhaired dilute calico
that she adopted from the Humane Society of Lee County. Her special
interest in veterinary medicine is Dermatology.
In her spare time, Dr. Wood enjoys outdoor activities such as rafting
and hiking. She has even worked at the Grand Canyon National Park,
Yellowstone National Park, and the Chattooga River.

Jennifer, Practice Manager
Jennifer
a native of New Jersey began working at Largo Veterinary Hospital in
January of 2001. While in high school Jennifer started working in a
veterinary hospital doing kennels at night and on the weekends, then
went on to working the front desk. Jennifer completed her Bachelor of
Sciences degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida in
1999 and is a die-hard Gator fan. Jennifer shares her home with "Hobbit" a Keeshond Mix and three cats: "Cotton", "Hershey" and "Angel"

Crystal, Receptionist
Crystal
is a native of the Bahamas. When at a young age she began volunteering
at the Bahamas Humane Society, she saw the need for people to help
animals. Crystal joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in November
of 2003. Crystal actively helps support the Bahamas Humane Society, the
SPCA of Tampa Bay, and the Worldwide Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Crystal
shares her home with 2 dogs: "Destiny" and "Domino" both dachshund
mixes; 4 cats: "Cally", "Calvin", "Cosmo" and "Charlie; and "Finnigan"
a Beta.

Susan, Receptionist
Susan,
a native of Connecticut although living most of her life in
Pennsylvania, joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in December of
2005. Susan is one of the friendly faces you will see upon entering the
hospital and has worked in the veterinary field for over 5 years. Susan
shares her home with 5 pets: 3 cats "Tigger," "Dustie," and "Precious";
1 dog "Pongo," a Border Collie; and 1 turtle.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband,
children, and 4 grandchildren. On her time off Susan enjoys spending
time at the beach. |

Debbie, Certified Veterinary Technician
Debbie
is a native of New Jersey. She received her Associates of Science in
Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College in 1991. Debbie feels
that she was drawn in veterinary medicine because it chose her at a
very young age and it was and is just natural to have animals as a part
and purpose of her life. She joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team
in 2000.
Debbie enjoys performing dental cleanings
because it is so rewarding to see before and after and to send a family
member home with fresh breath for kisses.
Debbie shares her home with "Carla" a Boston terrier, "Baghera" a shorthaired kitty, and "Rosetta" a cockatiel.

Amanda, Veterinary Technician
Amanda,
a Massachusetts native joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in
1998. Amanda began working at the SPCA of Tampa Bay in 1997. Amanda
enjoys assisting in surgery.
Amanda shares her
home with "Elliot" a Pomeranian Mix and "Emma" a Maltese mix. In her
spare time Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and two
children Tyler and Tabitha.

Teresa, Veterinary Assistant
Teresa
a native of Pennsylvania joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in
1994. After years in the accounting field, Teresa wanted to try
something more fulfilling and found working with animals to be a great
job with many extra rewards. Teresa shares her home with her husband
and "Libby" a Shih Tzu.
In her spare
time Teresa enjoys playing golf, swimming and watching her son race
open-wheel modifieds. Teresa also enjoys representing Largo Veterinary
Hospital in the SPCA annual Pet Walk and volunteering at Largo
Recreation Center.

Rod, Veterinary Assistant
Rod
a Florida native joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in May of
2005. He has been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years.
Rod makes sure that any animal that stays at Largo Veterinary Hospital
is comfortable and given extra special care.
In
his spare time Rod enjoys fishing and hunting. He shares his home with
"Boogie" a black shorthaired cat, "Lucky" a mix breed and "Rex" a Rat
Terrier.
