Dr. James Lutz, Practice Owner
Dr.
James Lutz received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from
Michigan State in 1977. He then worked as an associate at Tyrone
Veterinary Hospital in St. Petersburg prior to opening Largo Veterinary
Hospital in 1984. Dr Lutz also served as the staff veterinarian for the
Pinellas County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (SPCA) to Animals
from 1983-2001 and he currently serves on the SPCA board of directors.
He has also served as President of the Pinellas County Veterinary
Medical Society and the Pinellas Animal Foundation.
Dr. Lutz and his wife share their home with several furry friends: "Tequila" a Chihuahua, who thinks she is a princess, "Cougar" a very mellow domestic cat, "Trinity" a Cairn Terrier, “Jo Jo” a Pomeranian, and "Peanut" a tiny Chihuahua.

Dr. Alise Wood, Veterinarian

Dr. Wood received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Troy University in 2003; she received her DVM degree from Auburn University in May 2007. Dr. Wood has 1 kitten “Butch Catsidy” that she adopted from Friends of Strays. Her special interest in veterinary medicine is Dermatology.
In her spare time, Dr. Wood enjoys outdoor activities such as rafting
and hiking. She has even worked at the Grand Canyon National Park,
Yellowstone National Park, and the Chattooga River.

Crystal, Receptionist
Crystal
is a native of the Bahamas. When at a young age she began volunteering
at the Bahamas Humane Society, she saw the need for people to help
animals. Crystal joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in November
of 2003. Crystal actively helps support the Bahamas Humane Society, the
SPCA of Tampa Bay, and the Worldwide Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Crystal shares her home with 2 dogs: "Destiny" and "Domino" both
dachshund mixes and 4 cats: "Cally", "Calvin", "Cosmo" and "Charlie”.

Susan, Receptionist
Susan, a native of Connecticut, although living most of her life in Pennsylvania, joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in December of 2005. Susan is one of the friendly faces you will see upon entering the hospital and has worked in the veterinary field for over 9 years. Susan shares her home with 5 cats: “Tigger”, “Dustie”, “Precious”, “Casper”, and “Mr. Phinx”.
In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and 6 granddaughters. On her time off, Susan enjoys spending time at the beach and Disney World.

Debbie, Certified Veterinary Technician
Debbie
is a native of New Jersey. She received her Associates of Science in
Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College in 1991. Debbie feels
that she was drawn in veterinary medicine because it chose her at a
very young age and it was and is just natural to have animals as a part
and purpose of her life. She joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team
in 2000.
Debbie shares her home with "Carla" a Boston terrier, "Trooper" a Terrier Mix, and "Baghera" a shorthaired kitty.

Rod, Veterinary Assistant
Rod
a Florida native joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in May of
2005. He has been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years.
Rod makes sure that any animal that stays at Largo Veterinary Hospital
is comfortable and given extra special care.
In
his spare time Rod enjoys fishing and hunting. He shares his home with
"Boogie" a black shorthaired cat, "Lucky" a mix breed and "Rex" a Rat
Terrier.

Ed, Veterinary Assistant
Ed, a New York native, joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team, in August 2009. Ed volunteered at the SPCA Tampa Bay as a Family Dog Trainer , kennel worker, and part time in the medical department.
Ed and his wife have two children and they share their home with 3 dogs, "Brooklyn", a Border Collie, "Bronx", a Doberman mix, and "Sam" an Australian Shepherd. Ed's interests include fishing, Yankees baseball, and dog training. |

Traci, Veterinary Assistant
Traci, a native of Wisconsin, has lived the past 15 years in Arizona prior to moving to Florida in October. She joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in October 2009. Traci has been in the veterinary field for over 8 years and received her certification as a Certified Veterinary Technician in Arizona in 2005. In her spare time, Traci enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 1 granddaughter. She enjoys being at the beach observing the aquatic wildlife.
Traci and her family share their home with 4 dogs: "Maxxie", a Beagle, "Mooshoo" a Mexican Hairless mix, and "Winston" a Shepard mix, and "Rocket" a Pomeranian; 7 cats: "Star" and "Paco", Maine Coon mixes, "Lexie", a Persian, and "Wendy", "Raymond", "Angel", and "Junior", all Domestic Short-Haired; and 2 birds: "Chester" a Quaker Parrot, and "Astro" a Cockatiel. |

Charlotte, Veterinary Assistant
Charlotte, a Florida native, joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in November 2009. She graduated from St. Petersburg College in 1993 in the Veterinary Technician program. In her spare time, Charlotte and her partner, Ron, enjoy spending time with Charlotte's 2 children. Charlotte also enjoys quilting, scrap booking, and jogging.
Charlotte and her family share their home with "Quincy", a Labrador Retriever mix. He is an accelerant detection dog for Lealman Fire Rescue. Charlotte also has 3 cats: "Kermit", "Copper", and "Buttens". |
