Dr. James Lutz, Practice Owner


meet_DrJames.jpgDr. James Lutz received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State in 1977. He then worked as an associate at Tyrone Veterinary Hospital in St. Petersburg prior to opening Largo Veterinary Hospital in 1983. Dr Lutz also served as the staff veterinarian for the Pinellas County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (SPCA) to Animals from 1983-2001 and he formerly served on the SPCA board of directors. He has also served as President of the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Society and the Pinellas Animal Foundation.

Dr. Lutz and his wife share their home with several furry friends: Tequila a Chihuahua, who thinks she is a princess, Cougar a very mellow domestic cat, Trinity a Cairn Terrier, Jo Jo a Pomeranian, and Peanut a tiny Chihuahua.

In Dr. Lutz's own words:
"Treating people and their pets with respect is important to us. We strive to provide the best care for our patients. By communicating thoroughly with our clients, we feel that we can do what is best for their pets. We aim to treat every pet like they are our own."

Dr. Dawn Daniels, Associate Veterinarian

meet_DrDawn.jpgDr. Daniels is a Nebraska native. She graduated from University of Nebraska with a BS in Biology. She then attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1997 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

After practicing in Nebraska, in 2001, she moved to the Bay Area to enjoy the Florida sun and the beaches! Dr. Daniels then practiced at several clinics in the area as a Relief Veterinarian. Dr. Daniels was also an Associate Veterinarian at both Seminole Boulevard Animal Hospital and Largo Veterinary Hospital (we are proud to welcome her back!).

In 2007 Dr. Daniels served as President for the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association and was a Gold Star Recipient from the Florida Veterinary Medical Association. She is currently a veterinarian for the Pug Rescue Organization of Florida.

Dr. Daniels shares her home with her pet-children Buddy and Mikey both Dachshund mixes, and cats: Tux and Lucy.

Dr. Daniels prioritizes showing compassion to all patients, educating her clients, and staying current on information in the veterinary field. It is important to her to maintain the highest standards of care and service. Her special interests lie in dermatology, internal medicine, and senior pet care. She practices from the heart, and sincerely cares about the animals she treats and their people.

Crystal, Hospital Manager

meet_Crystal.jpgCrystal is a native of the Bahamas. When at a young age she began volunteering at the Bahamas Humane Society, she saw the need for people to help animals. Crystal joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in November of 2003.

Crystal actively helps support the Bahamas Humane Society, the SPCA of Tampa Bay, and the Worldwide Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Crystal shares her home with one dog: "Destiny", a dachshund mix, and 4 cats: "Cally", "Calvin", "Cosmo" and "Charlie”.

Teresa, Veterinary Receptionist/ Assistant


meet_Teresa.jpgTeresa is a native of Pennsylvania but has lived here for so long she now considers herself a semi-native of Florida. She earned her Associates Degree in Accounting at St. Petersburg College. In 1996 she returned to St. Petersburg College and received an education in Veterinary classes. Teresa brings over 16 years of veterinary experience to Largo Veterinary Hospital.

In her spare time Teresa enjoys participating in many outdoor activities especially: playing golf, swimming and biking.

Teresa shares her home with two four-legged kids. "Elizabeth" is a regal Abyssinian 7-year-old cat who rules the roost over "Oreo," a 3-year-old rescued black and white cat.

Debbie, Certified Veterinary Technician


meet_Debbie.jpgDebbie is a native of New Jersey. She received her Associates of Science in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College in 1991. Debbie feels that she was drawn in veterinary medicine because it chose her at a very young age and it was and is just natural to have animals as a part and purpose of her life. She joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in 2000.

Debbie shares her home with "Carla" a Boston terrier, "Trooper" a Terrier Mix, and "Baghera" a shorthaired kitty.

Rod, Veterinary Assistant

meet_Rod.jpgRod a Florida native joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in May of 2005. He has been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years. Rod makes sure that any animal that stays at Largo Veterinary Hospital is comfortable and given extra special care.

In his spare time Rod enjoys fishing and hunting. He shares his home with "Lucky" a mix breed and "Rex" a Rat Terrier.

Susan, Receptionist

meet_Susan.jpgSusan, a native of Connecticut, although living most of her life in Pennsylvania, joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in December of 2005. Susan is one of the friendly faces you will see upon entering the hospital and has worked in the veterinary field for over 9 years. Susan shares her home with 4 cats: Tigger, Precious, Casper, and Mr. Phinx.

In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and 6 granddaughters. On her time off, Susan enjoys spending time at the beach and Disney World.

Charlotte, Veterinary Technician

meet_Charlotte.jpgCharlotte, a Florida native, joined the Largo Veterinary Hospital team in November 2009. She graduated from St. Petersburg College in 1993 in the Veterinary Technician program. Charlotte provides loving care to each pet that visits Largo Veterinary Hospital.

In her spare time, Charlotte and her partner, Ron, enjoy spending time with Charlotte's 2 children. Charlotte also enjoys quilting, scrap booking, and jogging.

Charlotte and her family share their home with 2 dogs: "Quincy", a Labrador Retriever mix who is an accelerant detection dog for Lealman Fire Rescue, and “Chiquita Banana”, a Chihuahua. Charlotte also has 3 cats: "Kermit", "Copper", and "Buttens.

Callie, Receptionist

meet_Callie.jpgCallie is a St. Petersburg, Florida native. She studied Zoology at Santa Fe College as well as attended an online Animal Behavioral College. Prior to joining our team at Largo Veterinary Hospital, she worked at Lowery Park Zoo as an Assistant Zookeeper. Callie is one of the smiling faces you will meet upon entering Largo Veterinary Hospital.

She enjoyed volunteering at many local animal organizations such as: Big Cat Rescue, SPCA of Tampa Bay and Gainesville Ferret Rescue.

Callie and her husband share their home with a Dachshund "Jaxson" who is a "seizure alert dog". She also has two ferrets: "Socks" and "Mischief."

In her spare time Callie enjoys boating, spending time with her family particularly her niece and her four-legged kids.


Holly, Veterinary Assistant

meet_Holly.jpgHolly is a Jacksonville, Florida native. She is a graduate of Ed White High School who is looking forward to future studies. Holly makes sure to provide loving care to each animal that visits Largo Veterinary Hospital.

Holly and her husband share their home with "Buddy" a Terrier mix and two cats: "Moose" a domestic short hair and "Monkey" a snow shoe Siamese.

In her spare time Holly enjoys running with "Buddy", shopping, cleaning, and riding roller coasters with her husband.

Jessica, Veterinary Assistant

meet_Jessica.jpgJessica is a Florida native. She brings over 9 years of experience in the veterinary field.  Having loved and adopted animals her whole life, she treats all visiting pets as if they are her own.

Largo Veterinary Hospital welcomes her as our newest team member. She sincerely enjoys helping animals in the hospital setting.

Jessica shares her home with "Jennie" a rescued Labrador Corgi mix and "Jakee" a domestic short haired black cat.

In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities such as: camping, four-wheeling, bike riding, and taking road trips.
